Food review: Terminus 1

A long awaited rain in the Capital served as a prelude to an evening delicacy of Tuna, Lobster and Lamb. Terminus 1, a newly-opened restaurant at Ambience Mall, Vasant Kunj, offers on its menu everything that is an absolute stopover for the city's foodies. Creatively done, the menus have been designed like the bestsellers  "Eat Crave and Love" and "Charlie and the Food Factory", with hilarious dedication and foreward. The literature fervour couldn't be justified though! Stuffed with an airport ambience with a long haul in gastronomy, it seemed like a bit of London parts of a library have been assimilated.

Though the theme must have been to assemble all roots and cultures, the execution could have been better. But, to be honest, the taste and hospitality are enough to floor a diner. Seared Tuna steak salad made us ready for take off. As our tastebuds took in the raw taste of tuna, the Tom-yum soup was like taxiing on  gastronomic runways. The real flight experience started with Mutton Kosha, a Bengali delicacy, where mutton is slow cooked with potatoes. The rice and mutton combined gave us "floating on cloud" feeling! Grilled sea bass is certainly another deliciousness that demands to be tried. Terminus 1 tries molecular gastronomy, where some fish and chicken are cooked in vacuum to preserve natural nutrients. Nitrogen is added to coconut flavoured cheese to make it more fluffy. The dessert was again molecular. As we landed, Khurchan Mille Feville was malai inside a patty wrap with ground vanilla sprinkled cream all around.

Pocket pinch: Rs 1,800
